I would pease ask all of you ppl thata read too much book about Vamp-as-a-good-guy leave this thread RIGHT NOW... all of you remaining I can say it's actually a good book The setting feels alive.Besides ,murder in LA is just another murder Vancouver is a bit more drowsy, thus dismemered bodies looks a bit more conspicous... plot aside, the characters seem alive (pardon the pun) The vamp, as usual is aristocratic and charismatic He's also conspicuously short.... Not a comic relief in any way it actually amplifies the "regal" effect while leaving him easy to relate to The heroine COULD be the archetypical Stong Woman (Jung and Xena nonwistanding) if she was trying to be one so god-damn hard. The fact that she's myopic and fears going blind and quit the police to hide it just makes her more likeable and realistic. In essence if you are vamp book short or want something smoothly written get this one.
