I pre-ordered it, got it a day before release and got to play a day before the retail release. After the three-four weeks it's been out, I'm a bit bored with it. Mainly because..it's not easy to solo, after you hit the max level, which I did in a few days, it just get's repeditive and boring. You have nothing left to shoot for, sure it's still a bit fun. I made an alternate character and I'm running through the game again doing everything I didn't do on my first character, free to play online..in any case..it's a rather good game, nice content and graphics.

If you get bored with it in 30 days, would you subscribe after the free period that is common to all MMO games? Probably not, and this would make the game empty for the competetive parts, etc. and this is why it is free to play online.

I should also mention, I have a short attention span. For me to play ANY MMO..well..it'd have to be really good, like Asheron's Call. I played that since the 1998 Beta, I played it up until two years or so ago. Longest game and best I've ever played. It had so much for you to do, even released an expansion. However, Guild Wars is somewhat limited, I'll continue to play it. I haven't done -everything- in the game such as unlock some of the items or experienced a lot of PvP, but it is slightly a drag and not as exciting as the first day I got it. I would recommend it if you don't want to pay to play for something.

We just got GuildWars and so far we are loving it. What is the max level anyway? I hope it isn't 10 since I am at 8. Just tell me there are more cities out past the North wall. I am hoping to find friends on so we can form our own guild and go do things. A group of people that can be contacted outside of the game. Maybe an Enerla Guild? I would like that and I am fairly sure my GF would too. A few things I can't figure out are how to Invite others to the group, or a Guild. And is there a merchant selling Dye? Well Just so everyone can sink up if we do want to go out together we should probably make sure we are able to get on at the same time. It is 8:45 in the morning here (by the Rocky Mountains in the USA) and Usually we can get on from about 8:00 pm (20:00) and stay on a couple hours.

When you start playing an MMORPG you want to play it for years, and yet have new things to discover for the whole time. Guild Wars doesn't offer this. And this is where it is kinda limited. But it doesn't have a subscribtion cost, so you invest far less money in it, and it is still comparable in replayability to most single player / networked games. |

I think this will be a game that you go back to over and over. It is more of a long term investment rather than most MMORPGs where it is get as much out of it as quickly as you can, get bored and quite and not have to pay the monthly any more. And it is so very very Pretty with great game play. I am hoping this is how NWN2 looks.

And they are the exception, not the rule. Most people eventually find that the monthly charge exceeds the pleasure derived from an MMORPG. And how many of those long term players try out other MMORPG and stay with them for more that a couple months? Probably not many since they already found their game. Most people are searching for Their game so try out these games and though it is not quite right for them they must quickly derive as much fun from the game in the shortest ammout of time in order to justify the expense of the game. And if you have done this with several MMORPG before coming to one without monthly fees you will naturally do the same thing, because even though in your mind you know you don't have to in your heart you feel that you need to do so. This is what I think happened with you MorbidDreams. Heck I am a newbie and I like sitting down in th the first city and watching all the Newbies using /dance. BTW the female Necromancer does a large portion of the dance from Thiller. Next time you play go up to one of us and ask us to dance.
