| Pirate campaign: Four Winds
Well, I'm new here, and not entirely sure this is how to go about doing this, but I haven't found any information to the contrary.
They Call Me Tomu. So calling me Tomu works (or you can call me They Call Me Tomu: either or). I specialize in rediculously high level (20+) epic campaigns of assorted types using anime stylized rules with a *heavy emphasis on attempts to create a form of balance.* I'm all for power gaming, but not if it makes it so that some people can't have fun just because a certain build is too powerful; rules can be creative ways of gaining special abilities and improvements, but sometimes things are just written in such a way that it's borked. So, anyone that joins, be ready to have a high powered anime-esque style of action, along with some complicated rules hoping (I guide players through what they need to know: I'm a very involved GM).
Anyway! To the campaign itself. I only need one or two more people. We've already started our first session, but I'd like to add in some more people, as I'm currently filling out the entire party with NPCs. The RP is called "Four Winds" and is about the group of fun loving (read: only about as piratey as characters from The Secret of Monkey Island or One Piece or any of those others "I don't rape and pillage" people) pirates, in their quest to seek out treasure and adventure. The RP is held on Wednesday evenings, from about 7:00 - 11:00 EST (session time may vary). I may be able to change that if new members request it.
I'm using d20 Modern/Past/Future (?) as the rules system base, but there are some significant complications. The party starts out at sixteenth level, which means there's obviously going to go epic. But d20 Modern doesn't have any epic rules, now does it? I've used a modification of the original epic rules described in Forgotten Realms for the campaign, to create something of a toned down epic system (level per level wise anyway). Characters can advance in levels without advancing so radically in power that nothing can stop them! That's kind of the theme I was going for.
I realize I've likely turned off *everyone* on this board by now, so I'll just end it at that. For anyone interested, feel free to email me, respond to the post, whatever. Once again, I'm new to the community, but *not* to gaming; I've spent the last five years of my life juggling numbers.
