Ultima III was the first game I bought when our family got a new computer and it took me about six months to finish.

It's a shame how far the series fell before the end though, by the time Ultimas VIII and IX came around, the Avatar seemed to bear little resemblance to the character from previous games.

Still, until that point, these games are undeniable classics that are still fun to play today.

Well, the Underworld games and U7 part 2 were also good, past that I remember a couple of games about someone pretending to be the avatar doing dumb things like unleashing world-destroying titans because they asked.
