Best non-JRR Tolkien fantasy

Stephen Donaldson takes this one quite easily. He has excelent plots in both Scifi and Fantasy and uses excellent english.

Other fantastic ones have to be Greg Baer (scifi) and Greg Benford and ....
i forgot - but the three who wrote the sequel for Asimov's foundation epic

Re: Best non-JRR Tolkien fantasy

I have always enjoyed the works of Greg Bear and Gregory Benford. A couple months ago I went through five of Bear's books in a few days.

<grin> How about a review of a couple of those books? I've never read anything by Greg Bear, or Benford. What titles do they write? What kind of storylines?

Yes, this is a strong request for a few book reviews

One of my all-time favourites is Raymond Feist. I think he is absolutely brilliant, one of the main things that I like about him is that he writes on an epic scale, and his world is not static, but constantly changing and developing.
Can only recommend to everyone.
