Best Computer RPG of the D&D line?

So, which is, in your opinion, the 3 best computer RPG made from the D&D line?

My votes would go for:

1- Bladurs Gate 2
2- Planescape: Torment
3- Icewind Dale 2

Re: Best Computer RPG of the D&D line?

1st: Neverwinter Nights (with its expansions)
For the editor, DM client, versatility, etc. it had just as much content as BG series, etc.
2nd: Planescape Torment
For the story, mood, detail, etc. (But it can be reproduced in NwN so this is why it is just the 2nd)
3rd: Baldurs Gate series
For rules and content adaptation. (ToEE is better at this, but too bugous for my tastes, and useless support)

Re: Best Computer RPG of the D&D line?

I'mah swing in from left field and say Dark Alliance for number one. not your typical D&D franchise but it rocked.

Then I'd have to say the EOB trilogy, they may be old but they were fantastic in their day and the plot still holds its own against any of the more modern games.

And thirdly, NWN, for no other reason than because it can be used to GM real life games.

Cheers!

Re: Best Computer RPG of the D&D line?

for me the first 3 is :

1. Planescape Torment
(mainly for the story , and the little fun surprises)
2. Neverwinter nights (with all expansions)
(possibly limitles adventure in 3d, with DM if needed )
(and I'm still thinking if the engine could be changed to handle
Star Wars or Aliens )
3. tough, as I don't like IWD, BG, ToEE, Pool2,
so maybe because it was my favorite at that time , and I might
still love to play with it : Eye of The Beholder Series

(
4. old fun, and good memories: the SSI games )

Re: Best Computer RPG of the D&D line?

With heavy use of hak packs, etc. one can try it. If you seen the ongoing projects you can see how much the engine can do
