Ten worst bugs in computer games

In game video stuff tries to set region code. You cannot reset the counter again (hardware limit)
Installer / Uninstaller damages system
Installer corrupts DirectX
Game crash corrupts filesystem
Incompatibility with VGA driver kills your VGA driver, and forces windows to 640*480*16 till restart
Game fails to start
Game crash corrupts your saves
Game crash where you can't save
Game fails to restore after Alt tab
Mouse cursor isn't constrained on the current screen

As you see all listed bugs are from games. I think a honest reviewer gives very low points to a game that has any of these bugs.

Good list for bad bugs, sad this isn't the full list. And I think a lot of computer games magazines ignore any such bugs.

You should add the repeated crashes.... btw I wonder when a game will try to save the game if there is an exception befure quiting.

Yes. And as you might suspect a game can have many different threads, and if there is an exception the game doesn't have to crash, but can restart the thread, etc.

Most game developers buy engines and add content, no complex coding, no real programming. Wonder why you have this many bugs?

It can be good reasoning, but you can add short release schedule to the picture as well.

well not in game, but every time I installed Abbyy I had to reinstall the whole computer in a week. also a major bug (at least with me comp.) :P

About not game, I installed pestpatrol and it screwed my connection.... it didn't like my firewall and my spam filter or my firewall didn't liked pestpatrol or... anyway I removed pestpatrol

+ It is a personal experience; I was want to play by The Fifth Disciple, and it was want the CD. Ok, i said. Sure, there is a crack in on of the directories, but i didn't find on it! For my unfortanately there aren't any nocd in that time in the net. Finally i had to erase it from my machine. However in that time it was a new game, but it's not explanation.... Grrh.

So if there aren't any nocds in the CDs, too a big error.
